Tilicho lake trekking is the off the beaten path for most trekkers in Nepal. The spectacular view of Annapurna range and mix culture is the major magnetism of the Tilicho Lake trekking Tilicho Lake (5200m) is the world highest lake situated in Trans Himalayan zone in Nepal. Tilicho lake trekking is the combine of the Annapurna circuit trekking. The trekking commences from Syange (1270m) and follows theMarsyangdi river trail up to Tilicho Lake and with grand views of Manasalu and Himal Chuli to the east part.
The Manang village is the tourist hub place for Annapurna circuit and Tilicho lake trekking. Here you can get facilities of telephone, Internet, money exchange, small item shopping, high altitude hospital, German bakery and more. Manang is inhabited by ethnic Tibetan people and the have different culture and customs. In day hiking in Manang you can perceive stunning sights of the Mt, Gangapurna and Gangapurna glacier lake. From Manang village the trail passes the valley through the Kansar village. Afterthe Tilicho Lake the high pass of Throng La (5416m) then down to the Muktinath. You are welcome to the Mustangcapital city of Jomsom and the Thakali people.
We will receive you at the TIA Kathmandu airport and drop to the hotel and we will have orientation in the evening about the trek.
Chame is a popular trekking destination located in the Manang District of Nepal, which is part of theAnnapurna Circuit Trek. The starting point of the trek is usually Besisahar, and from there, trekkers can walk through various villages and scenic routes to reach Chame.
Today we will drive an hour to Pisang and start our trek from Pisang to manang Village.
We will be heading towards the beautiful valley of Manang. Manang is 22km far from Upper Pisang. There will be an option for you to choose the route from Pisang, which is either from North or South.
The northern way passes from Ghyaru and involves more climbing, but it offers a magnificent view of the Snow Peak Mountains.
The trail stays close to the river bed, and we will arrive at the small village of Khangsar. From here, a superb view of the Great Barrier opens up. There, you find a small monastery, Chorten, Mani walls, and prayer flags. Stay overnight in a basic lodge at Khangsar village.
Today, we will walk on the climbing train for the first half. We will pass by a Gompa and a small Chorten. The Tilicho Lake trek trail goes through juniper and sea buckthorn bushes. It is very famous for its route to drinking sea buckthorn juice. Tiny crystals entirely cover the path, and shrubs cover both sides. We will also cross small streams from Mt. Annapurnas.
Today is challenging and exciting for our Tilicho Lake trek, as we will see Tilicho Lake. The first part of the trail to the lake goes through a side valley, then traverses onto a moraine, climbing to 4710m. We can see a great view of Mount Tarkeghyang, Gangapurna, and the Khangsar Kang.
You are at Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world at (4920m). The water, sometimes turquoise, reflects the surrounding peaks. Most of the time, the water is frozen. Spend your best time here taking some snaps of the lake and mountains. We will trek down to Tilicho base camp in the same way for an overnight stay.
Today after breakfast we will trek back to Manang village enjoying the scenerio of the nature and listening to the nature’s call. We will walk around 8 hours to get back to Manang Village with joy.
After our breakfast we will pack our stuffs and drive back to Kathmandu. The roads are not well paved but better than before. This brings your trek to the end for Tilicho Lake Trek.
