Gokyo Trek is a magnificent trek with many incomparable natural wonders to marvel at, a photographers dream. This trek will take usto the source of the beautiful DudhKoshi River, magnificent Gokyo Valley and the pristine blue Gokyo lake, the Ngozumpa Glacier, the famous Cho La pass, and the popular view points of GokyoRi and Kala Patthar along with Everest Base Campand through the popular landmarks of Everest region: the magnificent mountains rising up to the skies, friendly Sherpas, the Namche Bazaar, the Sagarmatha National Park, and other landmarks. Gokyo, a hidden valley with its beautiful blue lakes high up in the Himalaya is a popular destination for trekkers.
Gokyo Valley & Gokyo Peak considered a must see for many trekkers. Besides the stark white glaciers, and the picturesque crystal blue lakes, this area boasts some amazing panoramic views. You will be able to enjoy the view of four towering mountains rising up above 8000 meters! Many consider our destination, theGokyoRi, the best place to view the world famous four peaks above 8000m of Cho Oyu (8201m.), Makalu (8463m.), and Lhotse (8,516m.) and of course Mount Everest (8848m.) locally known as Sagarmath.
Gokyo Trek begins from Kathmandu where we will take a scenic mountain flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport landing at Lukla. From Lukla we will trek through the Sagarmatha National Park with its colorful landscapes. We will take a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, the capital of Sherpas, where we are greeted by spectacular mountain vistas. Here we can enjoy the Sherpa village, its culture, the mountaineer and wild life museums. We will be able to enjoy a rest day so that we can acclimate to the altitude.
While we pass through Alpine forest and alongside rushing rivers and waterfalls be sure to keep an eye open for the wildlife in the area. Upon reaching Gokyo we again take a day of rest to acclimatize and explore the Gokyo Valley, Gokyo Lakes, and the GokyoRi viewpoint. We say good bye to the Gokyo valley and proceed towards Cho La pass. The most strenuous part of the trip is crossing the challenging Cho La Pass. From Cho La Pass we will continue until we reach the Everest base camp and Kalapattar. At Kala Patthara marvellous 360-degree panoramic view rewards those who have made the journey. From Kala Patthar we arrive at Everest Base Camp afterwhich we trek back down to Lukla for a return flight to Kathmandu.
While this trek is not for everyone, those who are physically fit and acclimate well to altitude will enjoy the challenges and rewards of the Everest Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek.
